CNC Onsite - Next Stop, Germany

Managing Director, Aage Dam knew that there was potential to work with the German market in a different way than they usually did, so when he was offered to participate in one of The Trade Councils Masterclass programme SBM+ for Wind Energy, he said yes:

"We had discussed that it is unclever that we do not really do more in the German market than we do. It is a market which is very close to us and there is a lot of wind turbines. We tried discussing what we should do and how we could do it. However, we did not look into market in a focused and concentrated way. We just tried to take the big guns and then shoot out in all directions. But with the Masterclass we have taken one market, the German one, and looked deeply into it. And with help from Trade Council and the Advisory Board we tried to analyze the German market to understand what we should do to get a better result in that market."

For Aage Dam the Masterclass concept SBM+ was a perfect fit, because the plan to figure out how the German market worked was prearranged – all he had to do was to fill in the gaps:

"When the Masterclass popped, up we thought: 'Hey this is a really nice and good way to do it because it is easy for us to do. There are some days for us that are booked. There are some deadlines. There are things that we have to do. It makes really perfect sense for a company like ours where there’s always something you can do.'”

He further explains how the programme helped CNC Onsite do research on the German market with help from knowledgeable people:

"Because were participating in the Masterclass we had to prepare on the German market and we also have good people that explained how the market work and what development there were. In this, we got a really good starting point for deciding if we should do more there. And there are opportunities."

After the Masterclass CNC Onsite has been working further with the knowledge gained from the workshops. With help from the The Trade Council Aage Dam describes what the next step is on their journey towards the German market:

"That is really to take a deeper step into the market and find out what is it that we can do there, what is it that we must try to change or what the approach should be."
