Dänische Fernwärme Allianz

Strategic Business Alliance within district energy as a comprehensive approach to the German market.

Denmark is a test-bed for innovative green district energy technologies and has been for decades therefore many of the solutions needed in Germany originate from proven services, systems and technologies.

The Dänische Fernwärme Allianz (DFA) under the District Energy Advisory (DEA) is a partnership between the Trade Council of Denmark, the Danish Energy Agency and the Danish district energy industry with the objective of creating a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing between Denmark and Germany on innovation and decarbonization of district heating and cooling.

The district energy industry in Germany is undergoing a fundamental change from being high-temperature and centralized, fossil-based energy plants towards low-temperature networks with renewable energy sources. Consequently, district energy solutions are essential due to the ability to decarbonize the heating and cooling sector thus delivering a key part of the transformation to a climate neutral energy sector.

DFA has brought together 10 pioneering Danish companies to collaboratively cover the full value chain of district energy from planning, production, distributions and consumer installation while integrating trends of digitalization. DFA initiates contact to Stadtwerke and regional energy companies to uniquely foster a deeper dialogue through the facilitation of technical project oriented workshops and share best practices between Denmark and Germany.
