Then maybe you are our new Junior Commercial Advisor in the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin.

The Embassy is looking to hire an energetic full-time junior professional to join The Trade Council (TC) in Berlin. The main objective of The Trade Council in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) is to promote Danish commercial interests in the German-speaking region. We do this by assisting and developing strategies for Danish companies. These can consist of a number of activities from market analyses and partner searches to strategic business development, delegations visits and workshops. 


The position:

As a Junior Commercial Advisor, you will be a part of a diverse team employed at the Danish missions in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. We identify possibilities for Danish business in Germany by monitoring and analysing current market trends and to present business opportunities for Danish companies and. Through your counselling the companies gain new knowledge about Germany, and a strong foothold in the market.

Germany is Denmark’s largest trading partner, and one of the first export markets for Danish SMEs. The role as commercial advisor in a market entry position will be to provide information and assist a large number of Danish SMEs. The right candidate with the right drive, is encouraged to shape the position within the scope of identifying digital as well as physical market opportunities. We highly appreciate you bringing new ideas and perspectives to the table with the companies in focus. We are looking for an outgoing and proactive person, who is keen to deliver service and make a difference for various companies - and who have strong team working skills.


Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinating the activities and as the intermediary between Danish companies and German customers.
  • Identifying and establishing contact with relevant German stakeholders.
  • Gathering, analysing and presenting information relevant to strategic partners.
  • Taking part in idea development and export strategies for Danish companies.
  • Organizing activities, i.e. delegation trips to Germany/Denmark, incl. workshops.
  • Planning and setting up business meetings and company visits in Germany and Denmark.
  • Coordinating status meetings for business alliances and presenting the latest relevant updates for alliance members. 


Qualifications:

  • You have a relevant commercial education.
  • You have an interest in Germany and the German market and a strong willingness to keep up with current market trends
  • You are business oriented, can identify business opportunities and have a good understanding of opportunities and challenges that companies face when going abroad
  • You possess good team working skills and are outgoing and curious about your surroundings
  • You can establish close and systematic customer relations throughout the entire process - from proactive sales to execution and retention, with a strategic mind-set.
  • Knowledge of the German language as well as an open mind towards improving German language skills is expected. English (orally and written) is required, and knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus.


Employment conditions and what we offer:

  • You will be hired as a “Junior Commercial Advisor” at the Embassy of Denmark in Berlin on a temporary contract for two years, with the possibility of extension.
  • You will be hired on a local contract based on Mission Staff Rules
  • Starting date is 1st of April 2023 or as soon as possible after security clearance.
  • Your standard working hours are 37 hours per week
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant work experience and proven work-related results
  • A unique access to decision-makers in Danish and German companies and organisations
