The Royal Danish Embassy is looking for a press officer (f/m/d)

The Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin is looking for a full-time press officer. The employee complements the Department of Communication, Culture and Public Diplomacy (KKP).

Under the direction of the head of the Department of Communication, Culture and Public Diplomacy, and in cooperation with the communication officer, the press officer will manage the daily press and media use on all platforms of the embassy and also manage her/his own projects within the department's area of activity. The position also includes tasks in the field of culture.

 

The press officer contributes to the development of a collective press strategy for the embassy. The work tasks are primarily:

 

  • Elaboration of SoMe and press strategies, press releases, articles and information texts

  • Proactive contact with the media and opinion leaders in German-speaking countries and Denmark

  • Webmastering, content development, preparation and management for the embassy website

  • Co-development of public diplomacy projects

 

The position is limited to 2 years employment with the possibility of extension. Working hours are 37 hours per week. Employment conditions are following local terms. Salary in accordance with qualifications according to individual agreement.

 

We are looking for a colleague who:

 

  • Has extensive experience from a press or communications background, either as a journalist or academic with an interest in politics and communications

  • Has experience in developing and implementing SoMe strategies

  • Has political understanding and is well versed in social and political issues in Denmark and Germany

  • Has good IT knowledge and experience with common text, web and image processing programs

  • Is familiar with workflows and deadlines in editorial offices

  • Speaks and writes Danish and German fluently - native speakers are welcome

  • Has good collaborative skills and personal impact

  • Is prepared to work under time pressure and with changing working hours

  • Has a sense of humour and a positive attitude

 

The employment requires a security clearance by the Danish authorities.
