The Danish Embassy in Berlin is looking to hire an energetic full time Junior Commercial Coordinator to join The Trade Council Team – environment, climate and energy - placed in Berlin. The main objective of The Trade Council in DACH is to promote Danish commercial interests in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We do this by assisting Danish companies in a variety of activities ranging from market analysis, customer and partner search, export drive and Danish strategic business alliances. Our TC team consists of a large group of very engaged advisors and assistants.

The position
As a Junior Commercial Coordinator, you will manage our activities on the field of environment technology, including groundwater protection and clean air technology. An important task will be to assist the so-called Water Technology Alliance (WTA Groundwater) in its activities in Germany. The WTA is a strategic alliance of companies with excellent skills in terms of mapping, managing and protecting aquafers. The alliance is an ambitious, diverse and complementary group of Danish companies exporting innovative green technologies to Germany. Conceptually, the alliance is a partnership with industry actors and representatives from relevant ministries and authorities in Denmark. We are working closely with domestic German stakeholders to foster collaboration and actively support the green agenda through Danish experiences. Particularly the challenges within German agriculture - including nitrate and ammonia pollution – creates a large interest in Danish regulatory and technical experiences. 

Furthermore, you will assist the department in our ambition to develop new strategic business alliances including our current focus on ammonia pollution and clean air technologies.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be

  • Coordinate the activities and be the intermediary between Danish companies and German customers
  • Identifying and establishing contact with relevant German stakeholders
  • Gathering, analysing and presenting information relevant to the alliance
  • Organizing practical necessities in relations to activities, delegation trips around Germany and internal/external technical workshops
  • Planning and setting up business meetings and company visits in Germany and Denmark
  • Present the alliance companies with the latest updates on the market, from business meetings and most importantly coordinate alliance status meetings

Job Requirements

  • Ability to speak fluent German and English
  • Relevant background
  • Structured, efficient, outgoing and able to handle multiple tasks as well as work under time pressure
  • A high sense of responsibility and ability to work proactively, structured, analytic and organised in and with a team
  • Network and insight into the agricultural and environmental sector will be an advantage

Employment conditions and what we offer

  • You will be hired as a “Junior Commercial Coordinator” at the Consulate General of Denmark in Hamburg
  • Starting date is 1st of November 2020 or as soon as possible
  • Your standard working hours are 37 hours per week
