Professional digital Advisor for The Trade Council´'s water team in Hamburg (WTA) 

Do you want to contribute to the strengthening of Denmarks bilateral corporation with Germany and thereby ensure export possibilities for Danish digital solutions for the water industry? The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark offers an exciting challenge to play an excessive role in the Danish contribution to the Digital politic agenda in the German water sector.

About the position
Based at the Consulate General in Hamburg your responsibility will be to strengthen the corporation with the German authorities, while supporting selected European countries, regarding the digital agenda in the water sector. The overall goal is to contribute to EU´s 2030 Climate Target Plan and simultaneously improve the Danish export of green digital technologies targeted the water industry.

The EE&I DACH team is a dynamic team dedicated to introducing Danish technology and services to the German market, thereby increasing Danish exports and creating jobs in Denmark as well as in the DACH region.

The EE&I team is anchored at the Danish Consulate General in Hamburg with 18 team members who collaborate across Germany at our Danish missions. We have busy and professionally challenging workdays and need your expertise to grow our Water Technology Advisory (WTA), which currently consists of three business platforms with alliances of Danish companies within Groundwater, Wastewater Treatment and Sewage Systems. TC and the WTA team have a close corporation with Danish utilities and agencies, with the Environmental Protection Agency being the cornerstone. 

Your focus and success criteria
In this position, you will work to promote Danish digital solutions within the field of wastewater treatment and energy optimization, groundwater mapping and sewage systems to German stakeholders. Your primary task will be to engage with German utilities, authorities and ministries to be on top of the German market situation regarding digitization in the water and wastewater industry.

You will visit the German stakeholders in corporation with the rest of the WTA-team in the German market and conduct workshops, political meetings and fact-finding trips to Denmark for German operators and political members. And, you will be in contact with Danish companies and core sales alliance members to regularly update them on the German market situation regarding digitization in the water and wastewater industry as well as potential project opportunities. You will continually work to fine-tune WTA sales alliance members’ market approach.


  • A Master’s degree in data engineering, technical informatics, IT-systems Engineering or similar. Possibly with a technical background.
  • Understanding in the cross field of data management/-collection, digitalization and technical solutions in the energy and environment sectors
  • Preferable first work experiences with data management and digitalization 
  • Knowledge about the German Water and Wastewater and/or Energy industry regarding digitalization will be of advantage
  • Analytical and execution skills, as well as focus on planning and prioritizing own resources to meet goals and budgets  
  • Excellent communication and people skills 
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and fluent in spoken and written English and German
  • A team player, yet able to work independently

What we offer
The Trade Council of Denmark offers a local contract with salary and other conditions regulated according to the “House Agreement” of the Danish Embassy. You will be part of the dynamic Energy, Environment & Industry team DACH and work closely with its team members. The position will be based at the Consulate General of Denmark in Hamburg. 

The position is to be filled by August 1, 2021. The position is on a contract basis and initially offered for a 2-year period (with possible extension).
